Entry requirements:

Those undertaking the Diploma of Automotive Technology must have completed an automotive Certificate IV qualification in one of the following disciplines or be able to demonstrate equivalent competency.

  • AUR40216 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
  • AUR40816 Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Overhauling

English requirements: Completion of year 11 or equivalent. (Subject to the assessment and approval of UTA Institute of Technology Admission team.)

  • must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or
  • must have a TOEFL iBT score of 46 or
  • must have a PTE Academic score of 42 or
  • must have a Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) score of 162 or
  • must have an OET score of B for each component

 

DURATION:

  • International: 38 weeks including 6 weeks break (All the courses for international students are run over 2.5 days for a minimum of 20 hours per week)
  • Domestic: 38 weeks (may vary depending on the cohort and industry requirements)

  6. AURETA005 Analyse and evaluate electrical and electronic faults in theft-deterrent systems
  7. AURETB002 Analyse and evaluate electronic and electronic faults in dynamic control management systems
  8. AURETR034 Develop and apply electrical system modifications
  9. AURETE001 Analyse and evaluate electrical and electronic faults in engine management systems
  10. AURETX001 Analyse and evaluate electrical and electronic faults in driveline management systems
  11. AURETB101 Diagnose and repair electric braking systems
