AURSS00052 - Light Vehicle Wheel Alignment Skill Set

Course Description: Gain the essential skills and knowledge necessary to perform wheel alignment on light vehicles with this comprehensive skill set. Whether you are starting your career in the automotive industry or looking to enhance your existing expertise, this course will equip you with the fundamental requirements for wheel alignment.

Pathways Information: To enroll in this skill set, you must already be enrolled in or have completed one of the following programs: AUR21916 Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology, AUR30616 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, AUR32518 Certificate III in Automotive Underbody Technology, or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, the following units must have been completed as part of the aforementioned programs:

  • AURLTJ011: Select light vehicle tyres and wheels for specific applications
  • AURLTJ002: Remove, inspect, repair, and refit light vehicle tyres and tubes
  • AURLTJ013: Remove, inspect, and refit light vehicle wheel and tyre assemblies

Skill Set Requirements: To successfully complete this skill set, you will need to fulfill the following criteria:

  • Completion of a total of 4 units of competency.

  • AUR21920 Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology
  • AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • AUR32518 Certificate III in Automotive Underbody Technology or equivalent, including:
  • AURLTJ011 Select light vehicle tyres and wheels for specific applications
  • AURLTJ102 Remove, inspect, repair and refit light vehicle tyres and tubes
  • AURLTJ003 - Remove, inspect and refit light vehicle wheel and tyre assemblies

The full fee for the Service $2300

  • Tuition fee $1700
  • Admin fee $250 (non – refundable)
  • Material Fee $350 ( learning materials)
  •  Deposit prior to or at enrolment $500
  • Three monthly payments. (Monthly payment plan: $767. X 3)

Skill Set Overview and Entry Requirements

  • Being employed in an automotive garage (full-time or part-time) and having access to workplace observation and supervision by a supervisor.
  • Possess a Certificate III, trade qualification or higher level qualification in Automotive.
  • Have at least one year of automotive industry experience, and have current industry knowledge and skills in using automotive tools and equipment.
  • Be physically fit to fulfil the training and assessment requirements of this program.

Statement of Attainment

These units of competency are drawn from the AUR Automotive Retail, Service and Repair Training Package and meet the needs of workers required to perform wheel alignment on light vehicles.

  • AURLTD106 - Carry out light vehicle wheel alignment operations
  • AURLTD104 - Diagnose and repair light vehicle steering systems
  • AURTTD004 - Inspect and service suspension systems
  • AURTTJ011 - Balance wheels and tyres

UTAIT provides the opportunity for students who apply to have Recognition of Prior Learning assessment, towards a qualification or units of competence for which they are enrolled in.
