By studying a suite of 12 subjects that focus on the core areas of business as well as communication, emotional intelligence and operational planning, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to be an effective leader and a valuable employee.

Entry Requirements:

  • Successful completion of minimum Year 11 in Australia or equivalent in student’s country of origin OR
  • Holders of an AQF qualification level III and above OR
  • Applicants with no formal qualification and have experience within the industry may also be considered.
  • Are 18 years of age or above

Study Information:

Duration: Scheduled 42 weeks (The total delivery hours are 710 hours, including 54 hours of self-directed study)

Language Literacy Numeracy (LLN)

At UTAIT the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) core skills entry levels for each course are determined by referring to the foundation skills in the training package.

Core skills are assessed using approved industry-specific paper-based assessment tools to assess an applicant’s LLN capability.

For the BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Operations) on a scale of 5, students are expected to achieve the following levels for the five ACSF core skills areas:

Is the the Diploma of Leadership and Management for me?

This Diploma can be used to pursue a career in business and community services and is nationally recognised. It also provides students with transferrable skills that are versatile enough to function well in a number of sectors.

 

What skills and knowledge will I gain?

The BSB5020 Diploma of Leadership and Management has a strong focus on building your leadership skills and abilities that can then be applied to your own workplace, teams and situations.

This course teaches you to be an organised and knowledgeable manager who plans, organises, implements, and monitors all aspects of your workforce.

  • Use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet your organisation’s needs.
  • Discover practical management skills to plan and design solutions to unpredictable problems and the ability to analyse information from a variety of sources.

 

How many units do I have to do to achieve for BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management?

  • There are twelve (12) units of competency needed to complete your Diploma.
  • Six (6) of these units are core units and must be undertaken and the remaining 6 units are electives.

 

How long will it take for me to achieve the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management?

There isn't a specific time period that you need to achieve the Diploma. It just depends on how committed you are. Our students typically complete their Qualification within 12-24 months.

 

What if I already have these skills? Can this be recognised? (RPL)

Yes, this is a possibility. If you have over 3 years of experience in a management/team leader/coordinator role, your current skills and knowledge may match those required for the Diploma. This is dependent on your current work; if this is the case, it could be advisable to consider our group RPL course.
