Course Descriptions

This course aims to help new employees who work in the automotive garage to obtain the Automotive Air Conditioning licence /Accreditation with the Australian Refrigeration Council Ltd (ARC). Our automotive air conditioning training courses are designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to improve their competitive advantage. Our instructors are highly trained and make use of advanced learning techniques to enable participants to achieve their training objectives.

The AURSS00044 Skill set 3 unit and AUR20218- Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology meets one of the documentary evidence requirements for the automotive air conditioning licence issued by Accreditation with the Australian Refrigeration Council Ltd (ARC). (Individuals who attain AUR20218 will be considered eligible to obtain an Automotive Air Conditioning Licence excluding: Install air conditioning systems; and Overhaul air conditioning system components). Qualifications and Recognition

Entry Requirements

Students must compete at least year 10 in Australian school (or any other native English speaking countries) or above to be able to comply with the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF)  Literacy and Numeracy requirements of this course.

At least 18 years old, be physically fit to fulfil the training and assessment requirements of this program.

Basic knowledge of automotive engine would be an advantage to undertake this course. During the training you will need to apply for a trainee’s license to able to undertake the practical tasks and at the completion of the course you will be able to apply for a full Handling licence through ARCTICK. https://www.arctick.org/licensing/trainee-licences.

Skill Set Description and RPL

This is a skill set covering the fundamental requirements for servicing, diagnosing and repairing faults, and retrofitting and modifying air conditioning and HVAC systems of vehicles in the automotive retail, service and repair industry.

Licensing/Regulatory Information

This skill set involves licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements for Classroom training, Skill Set Requirements A total of 3 units of competency must be completed. And to gain a Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology as a full qualification. You could ask for credit transferred from certificate 3 unit or recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Unit of competency

To achieve this qualification, you must successfully complete the total number of units = 13

7 core units plus 6 elective units, listed below 13 units of competency.

On completion, you will be awarded the AUR20218- Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology. Students who partly complete the program will be issued a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

To enroll for 3-unit Skill set – Vehicle Air Conditioning Service, Retrofit and Repair Or Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology, click on the Enrolment or call us icon. After clicking the Enrolment icon, you will be directed to a page where you can fill in the form with your details and click Submit.

You will have classes at our campus at UTA Institute of Technology, 58 Newlands Road, Reservoir, Victoria 3073. Also, you can choose to study Skill set unit equivalent to 10 working day or full time and part time with face to face teaching for 300 hours during 15 weeks (full-time) or 30 weeks (part-time).or online classes available through Microsoft teams and that to cover the theory side off each unit.

You should be at least 18 years old and physically fit for the assessments and training. In order to complete the qualification, you must complete 13 units in total. AUR20218 Certificate II in Automotive Air Conditioning Technology. And for feather formation Refer to UTF28-01 Fees and Charges Schedule 2019-2020 regard the full qualification fee.

For the skill set duration Equivalent to 10 working day about to cover theories and practical for the three units and for the full course duration is 300 hours where you can choose to complete it in 15 weeks (full-time) or 30 weeks (part -time). The course is conducted face to face at the UTAIT campus.
