Job Roles and Employment Outcomes

The Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology prepares new employees or recognises and develops existing workers performing mechanical work in the automotive light vehicle service and repair industry.

Qualification And Recognition

To achieve this qualification, you must successfully complete 36 units of competency. On completion, you will be awarded the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology

Students who partly complete the program will be issued a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

UTA Institute of Technology recognises qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other registered training organisations under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

Entry Requirements

  • Students must compete at least year 10 in Australian school (or any other native English speaking nations) or above to be able to complete the Literacy and Numeracy requirements of this class.
  • At least 18 years old
  • Be physically fit to fulfil the training and assessment requirements of this program.

Study Mode And Duration

Training will be delivered at the UTA Institute of Technology, 58 Newlands Road, Reservoir, Victoria 3073.Location of training:
Face-to-face

A total of 1100 hours will be delivered in 55 weeks (full-time) or 110 weeks (part-time) (Excluding public holidays)

Material and Equipment That Students Must Provide

Students must bring their own personal protection equipment to class. Personal protection equipment must include a minimum of: steel cap shoes, safety glasses and overall or equivalent.
