The AFSACS Scheme
To operate in Victoria on vehicles that are outfitted with LPG fuel systems, you must enter into an Alternative Fuel Scheme Assessment and Certification Scheme (AFSACS) Agreement with VicRoads.
This scheme replaces the former requirement to be registered with the Automotive Alternative Fuels Registration Board, known as AAFRB (on 1 January 2020, responsibility for regulating and supporting the alternative fuels industry transferred from the AAFRB to VicRoads).
If you require to upgrade your LPG qualification with the new unit and that to convene the AFSACS requirements and the new standards for training packages,
- AURSS00033 – Automotive LPG Service and Repair Skill Set ( 2unit)
- AURSS00032 – Automotive LPG Installation, Service and Repair Skill Set (3 unit)
- Experienced mechanics may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning according to their learning experience and qualification (ex. Old LPG qualification Certificate III in Automotive…)
